Testimonials

Kimia, January 2025

I can’t thank your studio — especially Avalon— enough for the amazing prenatal yoga classes. What a strong and supportive community you’re building. The delivery nurses complimented my strength and fitness through a 29 hour labor— said my yoga practice was a big reason why I was able to push so well!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have done yoga before?
A: Not at all! This series is designed for all experience levels — including total beginners.

Q: What trimester is this best for?
A: All trimesters are welcome. Movements are adapted for your body’s changing needs, whether you're 4 weeks or 38.

Q: What do I need to bring to class?
A: Just a yoga mat, water bottle, and anything that helps you feel comfortable. We provide props, but you’re welcome to bring your own pillow, bolster, or blanket. If you don't have a mat we rent them for $3.00.

Q: Can I do both Wednesday and Saturday classes?
A: Yes! While your package includes one weekly class, you can add drop-ins to extra sessions or a discounted rate to take both courses if you’d like more support. Just let us know and we'll help you get set up.

Q: What happens if I can't make a class?
A: Life happens! If you let us know in advance, you’ll receive a class credit to use during the current session. No-shows without notice are not eligible for a makeup or credit. We do strongly encourage attending all 6 classes if you can to stay connected with your group and get the most from this shared journey.

Q: What’s the difference between the Standard and Premium Packages?
A: The Premium Package includes everything in the Standard option plus a private session, access to our video library, and a special partner prep workshop — perfect if you want a more personalized and comprehensive experience.

Q: Is this a fitness class or something more?
A: This isn’t about “working out” — it’s about reconnecting with your body, preparing emotionally and physically for birth, and feeling truly supported.

Q: Is it safe if I have complications or pain?
A: We always recommend getting clearance from your provider, but many moms find that gentle prenatal yoga helps manage issues like sciatica, back pain, anxiety, and insomnia. Your safety is our top priority — modifications will always be offered.

Q: Who teaches the classes — are they qualified to lead prenatal yoga?
A: Yes! All of our prenatal yoga classes are led by instructors who are certified through Yoga Alliance with specialized Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training (RPYT certification). Our teachers are trained in the physical, emotional, and energetic needs of pregnancy and are deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive space for every stage of your journey.

Pregnancy Safe Classes

While we offer classes that strictly dedicated to prenatal women, we encourage our expecting moms to come to regular group classes. Just let your instructor know you are expecting, and they will modify the class to ensure the safety of you and your baby.

Please note, we do not allow expecting moms into any Heated Class, Aerial Yoga or Yoga Trapeze classes.
